Welcome to Evergreen 🌲 — your all-in-one platform for planning, optimizing, and managing web experiences. This guide will walk you through the first steps of setting up your Evergreen account, creating a team, adding your first project, and connecting key integrations.

By the end of this quick setup, you’ll be ready to visualize your site structure, audit content, and track performance with actionable insights.

1. Create Your Account

Creating an Evergreen account takes less than 30 seconds.

Steps:

  1. Go to evergreensite.com and click Create Account in the top-right corner.

  1. Choose how you’d like to sign up:
  • Email & Password → Enter your email, create a secure password, and continue.
  • Social Login → Sign up instantly using Google or GitHub (no password required).

  1. Verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox.

  1. Complete your profile setup:
  • Add your name and role (e.g., Content Strategist, SEO Specialist, Designer).
  • Optionally, upload a profile picture.

✅ Once verified, you’ll land in your personal dashboard — ready to create projects or collaborate with a team.

2. Create Your Team

Teams make Evergreen powerful. With a team workspace, you can collaborate on shared projects, assign roles, and keep everyone aligned.

Steps:

  1. From your dashboard, click Create Team.

  1. Choose between:
  • Personal Workspace → Great for solo projects or testing Evergreen.
  • Team Workspace → Ideal if you’ll be working with colleagues.

  1. Enter your Team Name (e.g., Acme Marketing Team).
  2. Select your Company Size to help Evergreen customize recommendations.

  1. Invite teammates:
  • Enter their email addresses.
  • Assign roles:
  • Admin → Full access, can manage billing & settings.
  • Editor → Can add/edit content, roadmap items, and objectives.
  • Viewer → Read-only access.

💡 Tip: You can start with a personal workspace now and upgrade to a team later — Evergreen lets you convert projects seamlessly.

3. Add Your Project

Projects are the heart of Evergreen. Each project represents one website or web property you want to manage.

Steps:

  1. In your dashboard, click Add Project.

  1. Enter your Website Domain (e.g., example.com).
  • Evergreen will validate the domain and automatically detect your sitemap if available.

  1. Evergreen imports your favicon and suggests initial settings.
  2. Select your Website Type:
  • SaaS, E-commerce, Blog/Content, Portfolio, or Custom.

  1. Pick relevant Categories (e.g., Marketing Site, Documentation, Blog).
  2. Configure Content Strategy Goals:
  • Do you want to focus on SEO, accessibility, content freshness, or performance?
  • Select one or more to help Evergreen personalize your dashboard.

⚡ Project setup typically takes under 5 minutes. Once complete, you’ll see:

  • Your Visual Sitemap (auto-generated from your domain’s sitemap).
  • A populated Pages list with imported metadata.
  • Initial Insights (performance, SEO, accessibility) ready for review.

4. Connect Integrations

Integrations supercharge Evergreen by pulling in real-world performance and SEO data.

Available Integrations:

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

  • Connect GA4 to see traffic insights directly inside Evergreen.
  • Track sessions, user engagement, and top-performing pages.

Google Search Console (GSC)

  • Link GSC to monitor your search performance.
  • See impressions, clicks, rankings, and coverage issues alongside Evergreen’s own SEO audits.

Custom XML Sitemaps

  • Upload or link an XML sitemap if Evergreen can’t auto-detect one.
  • Useful for large sites or sites with multiple sitemap files.
